Frequently asked questions
What is an AI agent in FuseBase?
An agent is an AI that has been assigned a task. You write its directions, select what it can read and what tools it can employ, and it performs that work when requested to do so, or when some event causes it to do so. In contrast to a one off prompt, an agent retains its position, thus the same task is performed in the same manner every time.
What is MCP and why does FuseBase use it?
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that allows AI to invoke an external tool via a specific connection rather than a tailored integration focused on the pair. In FuseBase it works in both directions: a third party agent may access your content and a FuseBase agent may access services that you are linked to, as allowed by your permissions.
Can an AI agent answer questions on my public website?
Yes. On a site, a public agent may be installed whereby the visitors pose questions and receive answers based on what you provided it. That source material you decide on and write the instructions is what makes answers on topic. As the responses are based on that resource, the primary maintenance is ensuring that the material is up-to-date.
Can AI join my meetings and write up the notes?
An AI tracker would be able to attend a meeting and generate a transcript and notes, which would remain in FuseBase alongside the rest of the work. What follows is the value, since those notes could appear on the corresponding page or record, instead of lying in a side tool. An overview is read by a person prior to anyone taking any action on it.
Can AI agents work with the other tools my team already uses?
Agents may be linked to services like a calendar, a chat tool or a payment service, so work is not constrained by the boundaries of FuseBase. The control points remain constant as more routine steps get transferred to the agents. You approve every connection, every agent has a role of operation and you determine what can run without being checked.
Can two clients ever see each other's work?
Not via a common portal. Every client has his or her own access and only when you put internal material in the view of a client can it be seen. Before reusing a folder across portals, check the permission of a linked folder.
Do we have to move everything off our current tools?
No. FuseBase is able to scale up what you already run instead of requiring a migration. One typical place to start is to add the client facing layer to an existing internal environment and hook the two together, and only add more when it is profitable.
Who is FuseBase built for?
Businesses and groups whose output is made available to the customers: agencies, consultancies, professional services and the client facing side of the larger companies. That audience has been using the platform since 2014, and the client portal is what the client interacts with.
Can we put the portal on our own domain?
It supports a custom domain, which means the portal is hosted at an address that is part of your business. It is available depending on your plan and therefore you have to check it on your account first before you assure a client.
